Axe Holders for Viking axes

We have traditional carrying rings for carrying Viking axes. With our carrying rings, the axes are carried safely and can be easily accessed. Our rings are suitable for both throwing axes and traditional lumberjack axes.

Replacing Axe Handle

For both practical and decorative reasons, you may want to replace the axe handle with another or longer shaft. The axe shaft is just as important as the axe itself. Tip: For making Viking Dane Axes, we offer large ash wood axe shafts suitable for reenactment battles.

Removing Axe Shaft

Remove the entire axe shaft by taking it out of the ring with tools. This can also be done by placing the axe in the fire, but be careful as this changes the hardness of the steel. Especially if you intend to use the axe for woodworking, it is best to avoid this.

Attaching Axe Handle

First prepare the new axe handle on size. A handle almost never fits directly by itself, so a rasp, chisel, or a small woodworking axe is needed. Once the shaft is in place, it can be secured by driving one or two wedges or wedges into the front. This causes the wood to expand, ensuring it stays in place.
