At Celtic WebMerchant, we find sustainability extremely important because we care about nature, love being outdoors, and believe in a slower life with loved ones. Nature is increasingly being sacrificed for self-enrichment, and due to the high pressure in society, there is less and less attention for a slower and more conscious life. We find it important to be aware of our impact on the world and to take responsibility to reduce it. Especially now that people are increasingly realizing how important nature is to us as humanity.

As History Rebels, we want to be able to tell our own story through world building and historical inspiration. But we are also fully aware of our impact on the real world around us, and that is why we offer our customers products that are sustainably produced and have a long lifespan. We believe that as History Rebels, we can contribute to a more sustainable world with our story.

How does Celtic WebMerchant contribute to sustainability and corporate social responsibility?

First of all, we try to pay attention to corporate social responsibility in terms of personnel. If you work with us, we find it important that there is enough time for personal development and that the workload is not too high. Everyone at Celtic works part-time and is given the freedom to do what they enjoy most within the company. It is also possible without barriers to contact confidants, even if it concerns private circumstances. We also find workplace camaraderie important — we hope that no one comes to work here reluctantly.

Our company is inclusive: we have more women than men in management, and you can be who you are and wear what you want to work. We support LGBTQIA2S+ and polyamory. Celtic WebMerchant is based in the Netherlands, a country where freedom, equality, and individuality high are paramount.

Of course, we also strive for sustainability in packaging and shipping. We reuse all the packaging materials in which we receive our stock. So you may receive a box that previously contained stock. The rest of our standard packaging materials are made from recycled material, are recyclable and biodegradable, and the paper has an FSC label. The waste from Celtic WebMerchant is separated and recycled by HVC Sliedrecht.

Celtic WebMerchant also strives to make sustainable business decisions. For instance, we do not undertake business trips by plane; if travel is necessary, we use the train, boat, or car. We have a modern bus with a good diesel filter to minimize emissions, and there are plans to replace it with an electric vehicle. The shipping companies we collaborate with are also transitioning to electric vehicles.

What can you do yourself to recycle our materials?

If you want to return something to us, use the box or plastic bag in which the item was sent to you. This way, you don't need to purchase new materials. You can also keep our shipping packaging to send a package yourself. Additionally, you can separate your waste so these materials can be recycled — for example, paper from shipping boxes and plastic from packing material.

By working together, we hope to preserve a world full of nature that we can pass on to our descendants — with as few environmental problems as possible.
