We offer a large assortment of items such as whetstones for sharpening and maintaining swords. For the best result, semi-sharp swords are best sharpened mechanically. For blunt swords, we advise never to sharp sharpen the sword. To fully sharpen a completely blunt sword sharp, a lot of the steel has to be ground away. Blunt swords often acquire burrs during reenactment fights and martial arts. With a whetstone, these burrs can be removed. It is important that swords have no burrs as they can injure opponents. During cutting tests, sharp swords can also develop burrs. Therefore, a whetstone is indispensable for every sword collector.
We recommend Ballistol anti-rust spray or Hanwei sword oil. Swords must be maintained regularly, especially if they have been in contact with moisture or touched with bare hands. Remove any rust with a fine black sandpaper and polish the blade if necessary with fluoride toothpaste or polishing agent.
For most swords, wall mounts and stands are available. Some wall mounts are small and can be easily drilled into the wall. But we also have the popular large stands that often accommodate multiple swords at once. Many katana stands are also suitable for European swords.
We have a large assortment of sword scabbards, sword belts, and sword holders for the belt. Most of our sword holders are based on historical originals and are made for use during historical and medieval festivals or reenactment. Of course, swords may not be carried openly in public.
