Product description

These elbow guards are based on medieval originals. Couters were among the first pieces of plate armor added to a medieval knight’s gear. They were usually worn over a chainmail hauberk and provided protection for particularly vulnerable parts of the body. Couters like these were already in use across most of Europe by 1320.

These couters feature a leather lining for added comfort. They come with leather fastening straps and can also be attached to a chainmail hauberk or gambeson using leather laces.
