Product description

Bevors like this were developed in the second half of the 15th century. They protected the vulnerable neck and were usually worn in combination with a sallet, kettle hat, or, at the beginning of the 16th century, with a burgonet. The sallet-bevor combination was the most common, and both pieces could be attached to each other in various ways.

This bevor is based on several 15th-century originals. It is made from 2 mm thick steel and designed with re-enactment in mind. At the bottom, it has two holes for lacing it to a chainmail hauberk or gambeson. The back features a leather strap for secure fastening.
