Product description

These elbow cops are made in the late Gothic style and are perfect for (late) medieval reenactment. They feature holes for attaching them to your gambeson or chainmail hauberk with laces, ensuring they stay securely in place all day.

The late Gothic style (1440–1500) was characterized by sharp, highly decorative forms. These armors followed Burgundian fashion, with a breastplate that extended high over the thighs, similar to the way fashionable doublets were worn. The arming doublet was often combined with chainmail voiders and a chainmail skirt instead of a full chainmail hauberk with long, pointed sabatons. This type of armor was often paired with a sallet and bevor, though gorgets and kettle hats were also used. Gothic armor featured compact, decorated shoulder protection with angular besagues. In the Gothic style, armored gauntlets with individual fingers or full mittens were worn.
