This knee armor is made after an image of the battle of Agincourt (1415). Knee armor like this were worn by infantrymen throughout Europe. It is a fairly basic piece of plate armor but provides sufficient freedom of movement and protection to the knees. This armor is equipped with roundels on the inside of the knee to protect it.
