Product description
This doublet is based on late 16th-century originals depicted in Flemish, Dutch, Spanish, and English paintings. Doublets like this were worn throughout Europe until the first half of the 17th century. They were popular during the Dutch Eighty Years’ War and the Dutch Golden Age. They were worn by both civilians and soldiers, and sometimes a matching leather vest was worn over them.
This doublet features removable sleeves, allowing it to be worn as a regular vest while providing some extra warmth for the winter.
