Product description

A beautiful replica sword by Windlass Steelcrafts based on 19th century sabers that were mainly used by Union officers during the American Civil War. The grip is wrapped with black leather and steel wire, so it feels comfortable in the hand. The hilt is made of brass and beautifully decorated with bay leaves, symbolizing victory, and flowers. The blade is beautifully etched with neo-classical art motifs about military victory and with the text U.S and E Pluribus Unum, the motto on the seal of the United States. The semi-sharp blade is forged from tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48-52 HRC. It is delivered including a steel scabbard decorated with bay leaves. A great ornamental sword for on the wall, also beautiful for a Civil War reenactment costume or for Hell on Wheels or Deadwood Cosplay. When you blunten the blade, it is a great battle ready sword for sword fighting and for Historical European Martial Arts.
