Round bronze beard bead with Viking button motif. Also nice as a pendant on a necklace or bracelet. It is made of sterling silver and has a diameter of approximately 1.10 cm. It weighs around 3.60 grams.
Spiral motifs have been found in Europe since the Neolithic and are often associated with sun worship. Although their precise significance could vary per culture, archaeological and artistic clues of shared symbolism, influenced by the neolithic farmers and taken over in later Indo-European solar cultures. Also during the Celtic La Tène period and the early Middle Ages, this symbolism continued to play a central role in their art styles.
