Product description

This bag is a replica of a 9th century original excavated in the Viking town of Birka. Bags like this were worn by Viking and other early medievel people in North and Central Europe. This bag is handmade of leather, it measures 18 x 23 cm and can be closed with a strap. The bag is decorated with motives in the art style of the Magyars, just like the original. It is inspired on the art style of the Magyars. The Magyars were a nomadic people that invaded Europe during the 9th century AD and settled in Hungary. The eastern Vikings traded with them and presumably used their art motives in their own objects. Birka was a city where Vikings from whole Europe traded and exchanged items, like this fitting.
