Product description

This burgonet is a replica of one of the most commonly used cavalry helmets from the English Civil War (1642–1649). Burgonets like this were worn by cavalry across Europe from the second half of the 16th century. They were popular among Polish winged hussars and by Swiss infantry mercenaries. This type of helmet was used by both the English Roundheads and Cavaliers during the English Civil War.

On the British Isles, this helmet earned the nickname “Lobster Pot.” Unlike its predecessors, it offers an optimal field of vision, protected by a visor consisting of three bars. Additionally, the helmet has a neck guard made of several plates. It is made of 1.3 mm thick steel and fits head circumferences up to 62 cm.
