This candle holder is based on an 11th-century original from Norway. The original is now part of the National Museum in Oslo. This candle holder is an accurate representation of Viking ships as they were built between the 9th and 11th centuries. At the bow and stern, the ship has two wind vanes, which were intended to achieve both a representative appearance and artistic craftsmanship. At the bow, this candle holder has two pins where the candles can be placed.
