A shoulder piece like this is also called a pixane. Pixanes were sewn to the gambeson and were usually worn underneath the suit of armour. As a result the wearer was also protected on open spots in the suit of armour.
This shoulder piece consists of flat rings riveted with wedge rivets and round, butted rings. They are interwoven 4 in 1 and have an inner diameter of 8 mm. It measures 36 x 27 cm and has a neck opening of 15 x 14 cm. It weighs approx. 0,6 kg.
