Product description

This is a replica of an Italic galea which was found in the Roman fort at Krefeld, Germany. It was probably worn between 70 and 150 AD. A similar helmet was also found in Mainz.

The cheek protectors of the original have been lost and therefore the reproduction is provided with cheek protectors derived from an original that was found in Worms. It is made of steel and ornamented with brass decorations. The helmet is suitable for a head circumference up to 60 cm and is delivered including a cotton arming cap for wearing comfort.
