Product description

This drinking horn in the form of a Viking dragon with runes is ideal for drinking horns from 0.4l. The opening is approx. 6.5 cm. You can put it on a table or cupboard at home to display a special drinking horn, but you can also use it as a standard when you drink from the horn. A great home decoration, and perfect for LARP and festivals. In early medieval Vikingkunst, Draken played a prominent role as symbols of strength, courage and mythology. They were depicted with winding bodies and sharp claws. The images of dragons on viking art objects, such as jewelry, ships and weapons, witnesses of the deep -rooted cultural and religious meaning that these beings had for the Vikings

Dragons were the mythical variant of the snake and were already included in the earliest myths of modern man. With the spread of humans, dragon mythology also migrated all over the world. With many Indo-European peoples, dragons play a prominent role in their mythologies. In Germanic and later Vikingmythology, dragons are seen as all -destructive monsters. At the same time, they symbolize the malignant beast that must be defeated by a hero. These two archetypes - the destroyer and the opponent of the hero - reinforce each other.

Runen were letters and each also had their own magical power. Runen gave the wearer strength and protection and were therefore engraved on objects. Runen could also be used to make predictions by Volvas
