Product description
Over the centuries, the drinking horn has been used by different peoples as a cup during ceremonies and celebrations. The use of the drinking horn is even mentioned in the Edda. This horn is perfect for Viking reenactment, home decor, LARP and makes a wonderful gift. It is also ideal for festivals. This drinking horn is hand made from buffalo horn and is polished. There is a layer of varnish on the inside so that you can drink from the horn. It comes with a metal stand with which you can place it on the table. The horn is engraved with a Vegvisir. The Vegvisir is a symbol from the Icelandic Huld manuscript, a 19th century occult book of spells. Vegvisir means: that which shows the way. Whoever wore this magical symbol would not get lost during a storm. It is not known whether the early medieval Vikings knew this symbol. But in modern Viking culture and among neopagans it plays an important role and has been given a new context.
