Product description

A voulge is a type of polearm that was especially common in 15th-century France.
The voulge typically featured a narrow, single-edged blade, sometimes with an additional cutting edge on the back. The blade was mounted in a socket on a wooden shaft. The weapon often included reinforcements along the shaft, called langets, and a round hand guard at the base of the blade. Soldiers who wielded this weapon were known as voulgiers. The voulge was used, among others, by French archers and is also depicted in period artwork.

The blade head measures 45.5 cm in length and 16 cm in width, with an inner ring diameter of 26.5–28.5 mm.
