Product description

A buckler was a small shield held in the fist during hand-to-hand combat. It was a popular form of protection among infantrymen from the 12th to the 17th century and could be wielded in either hand. Despite its small size, it was effective at deflecting blows.

This buckler is classified, according to Herbert Schmidt, as a Type IA: it has a round shape with straight edges.

The buckler is made of 2 mm thick steel, has a diameter of 16.5 cm, and weighs 0.55 kg. The grip is wrapped in leather.
