Product description

These spaulders are based on originals used from the 14th century onwards. They can be easily combined with armor pieces in the Churburg style or Avant style, but even in late-Gothic armor, spaulders like these remained commonly used. Spaulders are narrow shoulder pieces that attach to a gambeson, mail hauberk, or gorget. These armor pieces differ from pauldrons, as pauldrons are broader and also provide protection for parts of the armpit.

Armor pieces like pauldrons were very popular from the second half of the 14th century through the second half of the 16th century. These shoulder pieces can be worn as part of a full suit of armor or individually. They can be fastened to a gambeson or chainmail hauberk using laces.
