Product description
The model of this dress is based on 12th century Gothic fashion. Characteristic for this style are the trumpet sleeves, the wide skirt and the lacing on the bodice. Original dresses can be seen on gothic stained glass windows, gothic statues in churches and in manuscripts such as the manuscript De Consolatione Philosophiae (1130-1140) in the Bodleian Library in Oxford. The garment is also known as 'bliaut'.
This dress is made of sturdy cotton. The trumpet sleeves and the hem of the skirt are made in a contrasting color, making it look like there is an additional undergarment. The neckline and sleeves are decorated with a beautifully embroidered knot motif. There are laces on both sides of the waist for a nice fit.
