This axe blade is made after several originals excavated in i.a. Opphus, Vang, Hedemark, Dublin, Waterford and Wexford. This type of axe blade was presumably developed around the 9th century.
This axe blade is hand-forged from one piece. The blade has a length of 165 mm with a max. width of 110 mm and it has an eye of 35 x 25 mm. It has a single sharp edge.
This axe blade is a Petersen type G.
