This drinking horn mug is engraved with a fall craft. The Valknut was already depicted on a wooden plate that was part of the 9th century Oseberg Scheepsgraf. The Valknut was used over the entire Viking world. This mug is made by hand from a real oxhorn. Avoid dishwashers and hot drinks. Wash under running water before use. After each use with beeswax, treat him for a longer lifespan.
The meaning of the Valknut is unclear, but the symbol seems to be related to Odin/Wodan and probably represents a connection or oath with this God. In the paganistic vision of death, Odin also stands for the next life. That is why the sign of faithfulness to Odin can symbolize both loyalty in this life and in the hereafter. This would explain why the sign was also brought during funeral rituals.
