Product description

Spinning tops like these were used between the Neopiticum and the 14th century. Parts of spindles are often found at Germanic and Viking excavations. The spinning wheel only slowly became available in the 13th century. This spindle is a replica of a 9th century original found in Birka. This spindle is made of wood. The weight on the spindle is made of red clay.
