Product description

The Aikuchi tanto has traditonally no guard (tsuba). Large and strong originals like this tanto, the so-called Yoroidō'shi (literally: through the armour) were used on the battle-field to pierce through armour in close combat.

This tanto has a length of 50 cm with a blade of 32 cm and a grip (tsuka) of 17,5 cm. It weighs 500 g. The blade is made in the Unokubi-Zukuri style with a fuller and is hand-forged of 1045 carbon steel, the grip wrapping is made of black cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style and it has a black lacquered scabbard (saya) in the Kuroro style. A striking collector`s box is included.

John Lees models are inspired on historical originals and are high quality weapons. No plastics are used, only high quality authentic materials, like metal, brass, wood and shagreen. Every John Lee weapon is delivered including a seal and a certificate of authenticity.
