Product description

The dragon still plays an important role in Japan, especially around the New Year. This mythological creature occurs in many Japanese myths and stories. The dragon katana is made in the mystical character.
The tsuba of this katana is made in the styled shape of a dragon. His charteled scales run through the grip. The grip itself is made in the classical Hineri-Maki style and wrapped round with shagreen and rough woven cotton.

The blade of this katana is made in the Shinogi-Zukuri style with Hohlkehle (Bo-Hi) and is forged of 1045-1055 carbon steel with a 52-55 HRC hardness. The sharp blade is finished with a Hamon layer.

The grip of this katana is fastened to the tang (Nakago) with two bamboo stifts (mekugi).

This katana is 103 cm long with a 72 cm blade and a 30,5 cm grip. It weighs approx. 1000 grams and is delivered including wooden scabbard.
