The dragonfly (Tombo) is one of the most honourful symbols for the Japanese samurai. They symbolize the courage of a warrior and the mentality of never giving up.
This katana stands out in many ways and thus is given a name of honour: Tombo. A directly striking feature of this katana is the outstanding tsuba, consisting of two hand-painted dragonflies.
The blade is made of carbon steel in the Shobu-Zukuri style. The sharp edge has a hardness of 60 HRC and the blunt edge is 40 HRC. The blade is finished with Hamon. The wine red grip wrapping is made in the Hineri-Maki style. The grip is wrapped round with shagreen and rough woven cotton.
The wooden scabbard is made in the Kuroro style and contains a Kozuka (additional knife).
