These boots are suitable for Landsknecht reenactment. A Landsknecht (or Lansknecht) was a mercenary soldier who belonged to an organized fighting force, primarily composed of pikemen. These troops played a significant role on European battlefields from the late Middle Ages into the early modern period. They were known for their discipline, effectiveness, and often flamboyant clothing. Within the Landsknecht ranks, two main groups are generally distinguished: Swiss Landsknechts, active from the 14th to the 16th century and German Landsknechts, primarily active during the 15th and 16th centuries. Both groups were renowned for their combat strength and formed the backbone of many armies of the time, particularly in battles where massed formations of pikemen were decisive. These boots feature a rubber sole, making them practical for battles and walking on modern surfaces such as asphalt and gravel.
