Product description
A very detailed relief of a lararium (house altar) excavated in Pompeii at the house of the Vetti. The relief measures 30 x 28 cm and is provided with a hook for hanging it to the wall.
The Romans not only painted miniature lararia on their walls, but also house altars in the most radiant colours. This lararium is a replica of an original fresco excavated in Pompeii. This lararium is suitable for do-it-yourself painting in the colours you like. The original was also polychrome.
The house of the Vetti is the most famous luxurious residence of Pompeii. The house is named after the owner Aulus Vettius Conviva, a freed slave who had built up a luxurious and succesful life in the city of Pompeii.
