Product description
This axe by Windlass Steelcrafts is based on medieval axes that were used in medieval battles and in everyday life, for example by hunters. An ax was a tool and weapon in one. In the army camp it was possible to chop wood, to put tent pegs in the ground with the hammer blade at the back, and on the battlefield it could cause serious injuries to limbs, chainmail and armor. Hunters had axes like this to chop wood and bones. This axe type has a thick wooden shaft that fits well in the hand. The axe head has a patina layer so that the axe has a beautiful antique finish. This semi-sharp axe with hardwood shaft is made of tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48-52 HRC. Perfect for medieval reenactment, or as a decorative axe for your historical weapon collection.
