Product description

This is a replica of Hans Talhoffer’s buckler. A sturdy Gothic-style buckler, its octagonal shape offers advantages in combat. Ideal for HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and reenactment.

According to Herbert Schmidt’s classification, this buckler is a Type IIID, featuring a lozenge shape with a wavy design. Bucklers like this were used from the 15th century onwards and were mainly popular in Italy and the Holy Roman Empire.

This buckler (43 x 28 cm) is hand-crafted from 16-gauge mild steel. It features a metal handle reinforced with a wooden covering for a better grip. The design is historically inspired and carefully detailed.
