Product description

This is a replica of a Milanese pair of mittens, originally part of the "Avant armor" from 1440 AD, which is today exhibited in the Glasgow Museum.

In mittens, the fingers are protected by long plates that cover all fingers except the thumb. This forms a sturdier construction than the small, separate plates used in gauntlest. The drawback of mittens, however, is that they restrict mobility more than gauntlets.

The pair is made of 2 mm thick steel and is easy to put on using the leather straps on the inside. Each mitten is 27 cm long and has a wrist circumference of 30 cm. The mittens weigh 2 kg and are sold without inner gloves.
