Product description

This beautiful and graceful sword was used by Napoleon's Hussar regiments, light cavalry units on fast horses specializing in reconnaissance and skirmishes. Designed for speed, the curved blade is suitable for slashing but is also thick enough to perform a thrusting attack. Like the originals, the spine of the blade is etched with "Mfture Impale du Klingenthal Octobre 1813" (the first two words are abbreviations for "Manufacture Impériale"). The basket guard, pommel, and spine of the blade are made of solid brass, just like the original sword.
