Product description

This beautiful saber has a 1065 high carbon steel blade with a full tang and is well-tempered. It is a rare opportunity to own a unique piece of American wartime history. An authentic replica of the highest quality. Prior to the American Civil War, Sharp & Hamilton operated a farming implement company under the name Nashville Plow Works. As the war approached, the owners converted their business into an armory. Nashville Plow Works remained in operation until April 1, 1862, when the city was taken by Federal troops. This sword has a cast brass guard, with both the CSA and Nashville Plow Works cast in block letters on the underside of the guard. The pommel and back strap are made from a single piece of brass. The scabbard is made of blackened steel with brass fittings.
