Product description

Polearms like this one were very popular in the 15th century; it was an aristocratic weapon, much like the sword, and an ideal weapon for battles between men-at-arms. Several fighting manuals contain illustrations showing how to fight with this type of weapon. The weapon was primarily developed for breaking through plate armor. As plate armor improved from the early 15th century, there arose a need for weapons capable of penetrating it. The weapon was widely used in the Wars of the Roses.
