Product description

The pourpoint, also known as a doublet, is a garment for men that was worn from the fourteenth to the mid-seventeenth century. The garment originated in southern Europe and spread as fashion throughout the rest of northwestern Europe. The pourpoint was worn close to the body for warmth and to emphasize the body's shape. This pourpoint is based on originals from the 14th and 15th centuries. It features lacing holes for attaching chausses or leg armor. This type of doublet was an arming jacket and could be worn under armor.
