Product description
Greaves were worn over chainmail chausses and provided an additional layer of protection for the lower legs of mounted knights. The development of greaves ran parallel with the emergence of the shorter pavise or knight’s shield, which replaced the older, taller kite shields that protected the rider’s leg. Heavy shields were cumbersome in combat, so the development of greaves alongside the pavise represented a significant innovation.
These arm and leg protectors are designed for role-playing use. They are made of 0.8 mm thick carbon steel and can be easily attached to other armor components.
The arm guards fit arms up to 18 cm wide and 22 cm long.
The leg guards fit legs up to 22 cm wide and 30.5 cm long.
