Product description
This beautifully decorated buckle is perfect if you want to make your own Roman belts, or to decorate Roman clothes. The buckle is based on an original from the 2nd half of the 1st century AD. and was excavated in Serbia, near Tekija which was part of the Roman province of Pannonia. Originally it was on the belt of a Roman legionary: the cingulum or balteus. The buckle is made of brass with a layer of pewter, so that the buckle looks like it is made of silver. The buckle has pre-drilled holes for fastening to a belt.
