Product description

This Russian saber is perfect for Windlass swords collectors and Russian history lovers. The shashka became known as the sword of the Cossacks and it was used by the cavalry in the Russian army after the Russian Revolution. This became the officer sword of the Soviet Union. The pommel is decorated with a star, hammer and sickle: the symbols of the Soviet Union. The hammer symbolized the workers and the sickle symbolized farmers, who fought together against capitalism. In the Soviet Union, the red five-pointed star was added: the worldwide symbol for socialism and communism. Shashqua literally means: long knife. It has no guard and in some ways resembles a machete. This replica sword has a hardwood grip with brass decoration. It is delivered including a high quality scabbard. The semi-sharp blade is hand-forged from tempered 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 48-52 HRC. A beautiful sword for your reenactment costume or Cosplay. When you blunten the sword, it is also a great battle ready sword for sword fighting.
