Product description

This detailed replica of a Viking belt fitting is based on the "Birka wolf" design, originating from a historical model discovered in Birka, Sweden. Belt fittings were commonly used throughout the Viking Age and are frequently found in archaeological excavations from this period. Particularly among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland, and Russia, decorated belt sets were often worn and commonly found as burial items.

The "Birka wolf" belt fitting measures 2.2 x 1.8 cm and is designed for belts with a width between 2.5 and 3 cm, making it a versatile accessory for Viking-style outfits. It is crafted in high-quality bronze.

The fitting features three pins on the back for fastening. To secure it, simply insert the pins into the corresponding holes in the leather. Use pliers to slightly bend the pin tips inward, and then tap them flat with a hammer. This ensures the fitting is firmly and securely attached to the belt.
