Product description
This fixed shaft drawer loom is a replica of 9th century originals. It has 12 drawers and 13 holes for weaving. Looms like these were used throughout the Viking World. One specimen is part of the National Archaeological Museum in Dublin. Just like weaving with a loom, this fixed shaft drawer loom allows you to create beautiful fabric belts or edges for the hem of your medieval clothing, depending on the thickness of the thread. The width of the loom determines the width of the woven ribbon. A fixed shaft drawer loom is ideal for mastering the technique of belt weaving because it is cheap, readily available and much easier to use than weaving with loom planks. However, unlike plank weaving, a loom can only be used to weave longitudinal striped edges and not complex patterns.
