Product description

This Viking ring is a replica of a 10th-century original found in Boyton, England. Similar rings were worn throughout the Viking world. The ring is available in sizes S, M, and L.

In Germanic mythology, rings held sacred meaning. They symbolized an oath-bound connection between the wearer and their ruler, tribe, or a deity. Torques and arm rings were not only worn by the Germanic peoples, but also by the Scythians, Celts, and other Indo-European cultures. Indo-European society was deeply rooted in oaths, built upon the concept of cosmic order. This order was guarded by the gods and supported by a class structure in which oaths and symbolic jewelry such as torques affirmed social relationships and status.
