Product description

This ring is a replica of a Roman original found in the city of Herculaneum. He was in the 1st half of the 1st century AD. to behave. Rings like these were mainly worn by Roman women. Snakes were popular fertility symbols and watched over the house gods (the happiness) of the family. Similar stylized snake rings have been found to Scandinavia, indicating a shared Indo-European tradition or influencing this snake symbolism.

The snake was often depicted in Roman art and jewelry. She protected the prosperity of the family. The snake stands for healing in Greek antiquity and the Nordic Bronze Age. This slang worship as we see it in Roman culture, possibly Macedonia arose, where it was believed that the snake was a fertility symbol. That is why women were happy to wear jewelry in the form of a snake.
