Product description

The seax is a short sword without a guard and a fairly straight blade. This type of sword was mainly used during the early Middle Ages. For example the Saxons, Germanic people and Vikings fought with a seax. The seax was cheaper to make than a sword and according to some sources such as the Iceland saga, the seax was simply much more beloved than the sword. Besides the function of the seax as a weapon, it was also a handy tool. People used it to skin animals after hunting, and it could be used for weed cutting and harvesting.

This seax has a beautiful hand-forged blade and a wooden grip. It comes with a beautiful brown leather scabbard with braided decorations and a hand-stitched border. In this sheath you can hang the seax on your belt.
