Product description

The so-called musculata, a cuirass shaped like a muscular torso, was worn from the 4th century BC to the 3rd century AD, first by the Greeks and later by the Romans.

From the first half of the 16th century, the subarmalis came back into fashion! During the Renaissance, classical antiquity received special attention, which led to a new development in plate armor known as the all’antica style. In the all’antica style, the subarmalis was worn under the late medieval brigandine or other armor pieces. This style is characteristic of the cinqueda, barbute, and armor with decorative curves.

This Greek cuirass consists of a breastplate and backplate. It is secured to the body with six leather laces.
