How do I maintain my LARP weapons and armor?
LARP weapons and some LARP armors are made of latex. However, Latex is susceptible to drying out. When your latex weapons or armors dry out, they get damaged and can no longer be used during a LARP event. It is very important to perform the correct maintenance on your latex LARP weapons and armor.
Maintenance
The maintenance of latex items is quite simple. Ensure that the items are clean and dry after each use. Before storing them until the next time you use them, spray the latex with silicone spray. Use kitchen paper to wipe away some of the silicone spray, but always make sure there is some silicone spray left to keep the latex hydrated.
When spraying your latex LARP weapons, also pay attention to the material of the grip. These can also be made of latex.
