Product description

This sallet is based on 16th-century originals. Its popularity is evident from the fact that this type of helmet remained in use for over 100 years! These helmets were often mass-produced, with large numbers made in a short period of time.

The neck guard provided the wearer with excellent protection against overhead projectiles, while the visor offered a good field of vision combined with optimal facial protection. This lower-profile sallet was worn by both infantry and cavalry. The patinated finish adds an extra touch of authenticity.

The sallet can be worn in various ways in combination with a bevor:

  1. Straight on the head, visor and bevor open – provides optimal visibility and airflow.

  2. Straight on the head, visor open and bevor closed – offers good visibility and protection for the lower face.

  3. Straight on the head, visor closed and bevor open – provides maximum protection.

  4. Tilted on the head, visor closed and bevor open – allows for a wide field of vision and good airflow.

  5. Tilted on the head, visor and bevor closed – combines a wide field of vision with full protection.
