Product description

The sabre is an evolution of the European backsword, a straight, single-edged sword with a basket. It often has a slightly curved blade and a quite large knuckle-guard.

Cavalry sabres however were straight and two-edged. Originally a 10th century Hungarian cavalry weapon the sabre had its highlight during the 19th century in the Napoleontic Wars and the American Civil War.

This is a replica of an original from America. The blade is made of 9260 carbon steel and the grip and parts of the scabbard are inlaid with brass. The sabre has a length of 118 cm with a blade of 90 cm.
