Product description
The basket hilted broadsword was mainly used by the Scots. Sometimes they are also called basket hilted claymores because the blade was often made of a broken claymore blade. The grip has a large basket that not only protected the hand but also provided a better balance.
The basket of this broadsword is a replica of a basket that was typical for Glasgow, developed by the Simpson family. This decorative broadsword has two semi-sharp edges and a double fuller in the blade. Its length is 99 cm with a blade of 85 cm and a maximum width of 3,6 cm. The sword weighs 1,4 kg excluding the scabbard.
