The Scottish basket hilted broadsword was one of the most frequently used weapons from the last Jacobite Revolts between 1700 and 1760. This type of weapon was developed from the mortary hilt broadsword and was used all over the British Isles in a large variety.
This broadsword is based on an original that is part of the collection of the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow. This sword is 110 cm long with a blade of 94 cm and it weighs 1094 grams. It has a battle-ready blade made of 1065 carbon steel with a hardness of 50 HRC.
